Insurance Survey at the construction site of Floating Nuclear Power Unit “Academician Lomonosov”

![]() August 10-11, 2015, RANI inspectors held the first insurance inspection at the construction sites of the Floating Nuclear Power Unit "Academician Lomonosov" (hereinafter referred to as the FPU). The FPU is being constructed at present by order of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom" (hereinafter – JSC "CREA") at the site of LLC "Baltic plant – shipbuilding" (hereinafter – Baltic plant). The General designer of Floating Nuclear Power Plant is CJSC "Atomenergo", Saint-Petersburg. According to the decision of the Customer – JSC "CREA" the lead FPU after the construction, testing, transportation will be located and put into operation as a part of the first Russian Floating nuclear heating power plant (hereafter FNTPP) in water area of port Pevek, which is the administrative center of Chaun municipal area in Chukotka Autonomous District. The main purpose of the construction of the FNTPP is providing the local consumers with electricity and thermal energy in an isolated part of Magadan electric energy system of the Chaun-Bilibino power center of "JSC Chukotenergo" for the period of the planned decommissioning of power units of Bilibino NPP and the Chaun thermal power plant and even after its completion. The representatives of RANI during the Survey were: Mr.S.Babenko, Technical director of RANI, the leader of the team Mr.A. Nikitin, Deputy technical director of RANI, Inspector Mr.V. Vashchilo, Deputy technical director of RANI, Inspector The Survey was carried out in accordance with the current Guidelines of the international pooling system and the Guidelines of RANI adapted for the inspection of a unique project of the Russian nuclear industry - FNHPP. The Survey was held in accordance with the program developed by JSC "SOGAZ", Baltic plant, taking into account the recommendations of RANI experts. The inspectors were provided with all necessary documents, information and were allowed to access the facilities at the site. RANI inspectors highly appreciated the assistance and cooperation of the representatives of CREA, the management and the staff of the Baltic plant. |
